GenWealth broke out the party hats!
We were excited and extremely grateful this week to be named Arkansas Money & Politics’ Best of 2020 in two categories: Best Financial Services and Best Woman-Owned Business! Co-Owner John Shrewsbury says, “We are honored to be thought of as ‘best’ by anyone, but it is special when that sentiment comes from the people we serve.”
This year, GenWealth celebrated 15 years of serving our clients and our community. Coming from humble beginnings, our company has now grown to be the home of 6 office locations, nearly 40 team members, and over 4,700 clients. Co-Owner Janet Walker feels richly blessed to have come so far. “We had a vision of being more than just another firm on the corner – a vision of serving our clients with excellence, but I don’t know that we could have ever clearly anticipated where we would be today.”
Being on the Best of 2020 list in itself is a wonderful privilege; being featured among the best woman-owned businesses as well is an incredibly high honor, as women only account for about 15% of executives in financial services. GenWealth, however, goes against the grain, as women make up a majority of our company’s leadership team. While Walker jokes about enjoying the short bathroom lines at industry conferences, she is excited for the continued opportunities the next generation will have. “I am a firm believer that, since the time of Esther, there has been a place for female leadership,” she says.
As the celebration begins to die down and we focus on another year ahead, it isn’t lost on us that we still have a lot of work to do. “We believe everyone should have access to a clear financial plan and a trusted advisor to guide them through that plan. We won’t stop until we spread that opportunity throughout our region,” Shrewsbury remarks. We are also very aware that, without you, we couldn’t be the best of anything… because we wouldn’t be GenWealth. So, thank you. Not just for naming us the best, but for making us the best!
