Adam Burke

Planning Intern

Location:

Adam Burke is currently an intern at GenWealth in Bryant, Arkansas. He was introduced to the company through a connection with his advisor at Ouachita Baptist University (OBU), who put him in touch with a professor, Tom Calhoon, who has ties to GenWealth’s leadership. Adam is a finance major at OBU, set to graduate a full year early in May 2026, and is part of the Carl Goodson Honors Program. He is also actively involved in the Hickingbotham School of Business Student Advisory Board and plays a key role in managing the Ary Student Investment Fund, valued at $5 million.

Adam’s decision to pursue an internship at GenWealth stemmed from his desire to gain practical experience in financial advising, an area that interests him as he believes strong financial knowledge directly correlates to quality of life. He is passionate about the evolving landscape of finance, particularly how shifts in social security and tax systems will impact clients’ financial planning in the future.

Outside of work and school, Adam enjoys staying busy with a variety of hobbies, including lawncare, baseball umpiring, and 3D printing. His strong work ethic, honed through past manual labor jobs, helps him balance a demanding schedule of 18 credit hours and part-time work while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

As he looks toward the future, Adam is eager to explore financial advising as a potential career path and is excited about the skills he’s developing during his internship. He encourages other college students to pursue internships through networking and relationships with professors, emphasizing the importance of work ethic and a proactive attitude in securing real-world experience.
